Bespoke Suits have been custom made by Toronto Tailor House of Salgado for more than 50 years.

What are bespoke suits?

Wikipedia defines the term as: “The word bespoke itself is derived from the verb to bespeak, to “speak for something”, in the specialized meaning “to give order for it to be made”.[1] The term bespoke in fashion is reserved for individually patterned and crafted men’s clothing, analogous to women’s haute couture,[2] in contrast with mass-manufactured ready-to-wear (also called off-the-peg or off-the-rack).”

What is the difference between “Bespoke Suits” and “Made-to-Measure” Suits?

Bespoke Suits made by House of Salgado requires that the measurements of the person to whom the Bespoke Suits is being made, are done by 50+ years experienced suit tailor Antonio Salgado. Also a main difference between a House of Salgado Bespoke Suits and a Made-to-Measure suit is that the House of Salgado Bespoke Suit is cut individually for that person. All of the processes to make the House of Salgado Bespoke Suit are specific to that person it is being made for and no one else. The House of Salgado Bespoke Suits is One-Of-A-Kind!

Salgado Bespoke Suits always use imported Italian “Canvas”. Canvas are used to give flow to the suit which all of the fabric and stitching is fastened by our expert tailors. With the canvas and high quality of the fabric makes the garment is soft to the touch and elegant to wear!

…The difference

With a made-to-measure suit, measurements are taken by a “tape man”, he has been trained for only few hours to take basic measurements. Made-to-measure is also referred to as “stock singles”. If the “tape man” determines that you are a size “40” then they will go and pick a size 40 “Stock Single” and put it onto the person and will mark the Stock-Single with small adjustments. This Stock-Single is then sent back to the manufacture for “alteration”. This approach is NOT a Bespoke Suits because it is not possible to modify a Stock-Single to become a Bespoke Suits.
